You Know Its Gonna Happen

The news started to spread around 4pm Saturday. However, the offficial media confirmed the news on Sunday afternoon. Sunday newspapers say maybe. So, after so many mud-slinging, it was confirmed that HOLIDAY EXTENDED TILL SATURDAY 4TH JULY 2009. During this period, students are NOT ALLOWED to go overseas and have to treat this extra 1wk holiday as QUARANTINE. STAY HOME & STUDY, DONT LEPAK HERE & THERE. Supposedly, during this wk, teachers are supposed to give tests, but it had been de-railed by this extended holiday. So, the BIG question is will teachers give us surpriz test next wk? Haha Tak Tahu Apa Cikgu Punya Plan, Tapi Jaga2 Sajelah
Yesterday was Sunday so ada chance went to Consumer Fair as well as the b.mobile Loyalty Club launching @ The Mall. Ok, at Consumer Fair got Anti-Dadah Exhibition, Thai Fair & the exhibition inside the main hall. There were great bargains for food, electronics, mobile phone, broadband, etc. There was also a Brunei Cyber Games competition.
Ok, story about The Mall. The jam on the roads leading to Gadong was horrendous, all roads were blocked. So, we had to park @ Pasar and walk to Mall. There was a speed SMS competition when I arrived there, so tried my luck but, 'tak ada ong', later there was a talent competition with cash prizes of $1000 as 1st prize. The participants were making dance moves, very energetic indeed.
Some said there was this thing Freeze @ Mall. However, last year I remembered watching on TV about the event in a few countries where people 'freeze'. The participants were not told of their location, but instead were given codes. This codes will help them to find the location of where they should 'freeze'. For instance in KL, it was near Lot 10. There partipants gotta 'freeze' themself for 3 min. I wonder is this freeze the same as what they are talking about?
Since Primary 4, I have not wear any glasses, till yesterday. And sadly, the degree on 1 of my eye were high. Left eye 2.25 right 0.75. So, got myself a pair of glasses, maybe not so trendy onelah.
After so many U-turn & forward, finally Bridging Minds will be held tomorrow 30th June 2009 @ Dewan Raya RTB, 1o am. Bridging Minds is an annual debate programme collaboration project of RTB & MediaCorp Singapore. Its hope that this bridging minds will be able to build better bridges between Singapore & Brunei, since Bruneians had also already help to build better bridges via their $650 million annual spending @ Singapore, as well as the CIA Agreement signed.
Bridging Minds membina jambatan silaturahim & kerjasama antara 2 negara
Happy Extended Holiday 2 All

I Dont Know What 2 Say

By now, all of you would know what is the BREAKING NEWS already. At around 7 something, when I woke up, there were 3 SMS from CNN Breaking News. 1st said he was admitted to UCLA, 2nd said he had passed away according to sources, lastly LA coroner confirmed his death. Michael Jackson the King of Pop had passed away on 2.26 pm Thursday, 25th Jun 2009 (Brunei time 5.26 am) at the age of 50, due to cardiac arrest at UCLA Medical Centre.
Your Music Will Always Stay With Us, Even Though You Are Gone Already
All news media (CNN, BBC, Astro Awani, many others) stopped their normal broadcast (esp BBC & CNN), to bring live breaking news of his death. Meanwhile, as I looked into Facebook & Twitter, there were streams of condolences messages even from a politician and a photo-blogger. Some expressed that 'The music industry will never be the same again/the world will change forever'. Some debate whether he should be laid to rest in either a Muslim or Christian cemetery, as he had reportedly embraced Islam last November, as he find calmness in its teachings. I say he should be given a special place in the Holloywood Walk of Fame. From Times Square US to Tokyo Japan, he had touched a lot of hearts & souls, that many were sadden by his death. He was planning to make his last concert @ 02 Arena next month, but everything were stopped. 700,000 tickets had been sold, some news report had said that 'as MJ dies, accountants start counting his debts'. Its time to conclude this tribute paragraph, but before that I want to say MJ had came to Brunei to have his concert in 1993, in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan's 50th brithday. Don't know how many have gone to the concert, but maybe your parents had!
Twitter had seen its 1st Brunei casualty as the Head of Disease Control Unit, MOH had quit over differences in information spreading methods between him & MOH. He had been using Twitter to provide the latest update on local H1N1 situation, even faster than official MOH press statement. In addition, he had also given some tips on how to prevent it in his tweets. Apparently, his Twitter updates were not authorised by MOH. Minister of Health said 'He had seen the advantages of using new media to inform the public, and will look into it'. The people really need real-time information, at times of crisis like this. In another update, Ignatius Stephen via his website Brudirect.com, had open up a survey on whether schools should be closed to prevent H1N1 from spreading locally. As of 3pm, 246 votes have been casted and 240 agreed to it. Now, its up to MOE to make a wise decision to extend the school holidays as most 'suara pelajar' wanted it or find another way to prevent it from spreading locally. Quoting The Star report, 2 schools in Sabah had been closed reportedly due to H1N1 cases. A lot of people are expected to return from Sabah in these few days hence, there are 'high possibility' of a 'substatial' increase in cases, as Singapore were shocked by an increase of 45% in cases overnight from 220 to 315. Globally, WHO had reported more than 56000 cases and US CDC had said 1 million Americans may have been infected by H1N1. Ok, enough of shocking statistics.
'H1N1 maybe dangerous, but we need not be alarmed but stay vigilant by practicing hygenics practices'
Ok, just now I downloaded loads of censorship related laws information, there are really lots to read. I wonder how lawyers coupe with these? Hmmm, anyway I got headache looking at those info. So, after another U-turn again, Bridging Minds will still be held on Monday despite H1N1 fears. Cant wait for it, so excited, had been watching it on TV for the past few yrs.
My feelings right now - As expressed by a Free's song I am 'kan mei lok ki' already for A Level holidays. I wanna be FREE!
Bye, happy extended holidays or happy bk 2 school depends on what happen next

Stories so far

Nampaknya, makin menggunung simpanan majalah saya (orang gila majalah, baik jua bukan gila rokok) tetapi taklah setingggi Gunung Kinabalu kebanggaan Sabah, Negeri Di Bawah Bayu. Ini bererti dia sukakan gadis yg buat apa aje, tahu enjoy life & have fun. Lelaki begini happy bila melihat si aweknya is a risk-taker & dont care about what others think, the thing is 'if you like it, why care what other people think about it'.
Satu lagi artikel ialah mengenai dilema remaja tinggi & kurus macam saya ni. Its problematic you know, if your size is pelik. Masalah remaja tinggi ni macam saya ni, bila saya duduk nun didepan sekali didalam kelas, maka orang yg duduk dibelakang akan menghadapi kesukaran melihat apa yg guru tulis on the whiteboard. Kesiannya, orang belakang tapi kesian juga saya kerana kalau saya di-shift ke belakang sukarnya melihat apa yg ditulis oleh guru kerana saya menghadapi masalah dengan mata saya (ops, bukan mata juling okey). Kalau orang kurus memang susah cari baju (betul tak?), betul! Kalau pakai saiz S, nampak skinny, tapi kalay pakai M, taklah begitu nampak, tetapi baju tu macam baggy. Haih, dilema remaja kurus & tinggi, saya tutup, tak der modal nak cerita banyak.
Buah durian buah berduri
AH1N1 2009 tsunami
Kalau boleh panjangkan cuti
Cuti tak diguna dengan baik sendiri rugi
Bye! Salam percutian
P.S. Nak cari lagu Sodagreen(lead singer ada suara yg special) & Tank (MVnya touching my heart)

A lohas lifestyle

Yo wazzup people, you are being charmed by the aura of The Simplisiti, can you feel it. Ok, cut the crap, time is very precious! Hello, there
Some are flying to Singapore to enjoy GSS and to watch Merlion, some are in KK for diving (maybe not Kg Katok ), some are Kenali Negara Kitani @ Bandar, some are in KL(perhaps not Kuala Lumut or Kuala Lawas or even Kuala Lurah, Kg Lamunin, it goes on and on), some are in Bangkok having Thai massage, enjoying very bad traffic-jam & maybe watch Tiffany Show. Wherever, you maybe enjoy your holiday fully & have fun shopping, sightseeing, eating, snapping picts and whatever you are doing.
*jumping for no reason suddenly, like orang baru keluar dari Bukit Padang or Tg Rambutan*
Ever seen a shop or a restaurant that will reward you if you help them to wash dishes? Well, I dont think so, that you have unless you have no 'usin' after a meal, and the boss 'kindly' offer you a part-time job to repay it or otherwise other option is to enjoy nasi kuah kari in you-know-where. Well, yesterday I had just seen on TV a restaurant cum a shop, rewards people for being green. For instance, if you read at the shop's environment library for 1hr, you get a stamp. Another is if you help them to wash dishes, you also get a stamp. And lastly, if you bring in things that can be recycle (paper, plastics, aluminium, glass), you also get a stamp. These stamps can be exchanged for discounts of $5 or items from the shop, if you have enough stamps. This is really a good initative to encourage people to 'GO GREEN' and 'EAT ORGANIC' like what the E-Club is trying to do. ISB's Badas Forest Reserve project is also a good one. In a nutshell, lohas lifestyle is about eating healthy organic food (which is difficult to find in Brunei), practice recycling, prudent energy consumption, reduce wastage. (this is not the real definition, its my own definition)
My family had started to practice a green lifestyle too. For instance, when my mum goes shopping, she bring her own green & black cloth bag. When, we go 'tapau' food from Tamu or Sri Selera in Seria, we also started to bring our own container, instead of using those white polystrene containers. (psst, we also got more food, so bring your own container, but its tertakluk kepada budi bicara tauke gerai to give more). I had even started to be 'green' earlier, since Form 4, by using less paper with my tagline slogan: 'The Tree will die or The Tree is crying'. However, it had drawn too much complaints from my teachers, and even one teacher said, write on banana leaf instead or pei to leaves, like Antonia Pigafetta's time.
Ok, I sum it for this time.
Go Green, Go Lohas, Think Small, Big Changes. Chaw!

Father's day

Happy father's day to all fathers out there. Kata orang:syurga dibawah telapak kaki ibu, tetapi tanpa ayah, manalah mungkin kita akan dilahirkan untuk melihat dunia yg indah ini.
Since, the GP tutor had just migrated from the topics Health&Medicine, not long ago to Media&Advertising. Let me share a story that I have just read on weekendTODAY 20-21 June 2009 issue. Its about a dog(weird ai, Im talking about dog on a Sunday which is father's day, wait for a moment, while I finish my 'sandiwara'). Ever heard of a dog named Trakr, he is a life-saver dog that have led rescuers to the last survivor during the 911 incident on WTC. He just died in the month of April at the age of 16. However, his legacy will still be very much with us as from Trakr's DNA, his owner, James Symington who was also a former police handler, had got it cloned into 5 puppies. Last year, Symington won a competition dubbed as 'Golden Clone Giveaway' organised by California-based BioArts International. He beat 200 other entrants to win a cloning of his beloved dog with BioArts kindly throwing in extra 4 puppies. He proved that Trakr was the world's most 'cloneworthy' dog.In his winning essay Symington wrote that “once in a lifetime, a dog comes along that not only captures the hearts of all he touches but also plays a private role in history”. These 5 little puppies, could be life-savers in the future like their DNA dad. Right, enough of poochs stories later the felines would get me scratched for talking about their musuh ketat!
Another story that, I wish to share is from the HK drama that Im currently watching, Just Love 2. In a nutshell, the story plot from Just Love 1 goes like this: The father was a house-father, while the mother is a judge, the had a son named Ah B. The father was tied to marital contract, with lots of unreasonable terms, since he wants to be responsible for getting the mother whom he 'tak kenal' pregnant on a sking trip in Swiss. The father had sacrificed his career to take care of his son, and does most of the housework, as the 'lau po tai yan' didn't knew how to do housework.
Last story is from a Singapore movie, I Not Stupid Too(I am not stupid either, Im just kurang pandai). In 1 of the scene, it shows that the father tries to beg to each and every school in Singapore, to accept his son who was expelled from school due to an incident of hitting the teacher & also bringing XXX CDs to school. Another scene, shows that another father tries to beg the auntie whom necklace was 'ragut' by the son, to say that its him that curi the necklace & not the son. Lastly, when the police came, the policeman laughed, and the auntie told it was a misunderstanding, and she was taken to the police station for making a false report.
To all fathers out there who maybe a disciplinarian, the sole-breadwinner for the family, house-husband, etc. Happy Fathers Day
Selamat Berhujung Minggu & 4 those going on a trip to Turtle Conservation Centre & mangrove forest tour, enjoy your trip. Bye!
P.S. On Saturday, I dreamnt that I joined the E-Club trip to Pulau Selirong. Weird dream indeed!

Over a cup of teh tarik/coffee & free hugs

Salam muhibbah netizens & rakan2 sekalian. Its weekend of the 1st wk of 2nd term holiday. Since, there is 'tak de ape2 yg sempoi' in my life these few days, I would like 2 blog about free hugs & teh tarik/coffee.
1stly teh tarik/coffee. Brunei Times had a column over a glass of teh tarik, Star also got Cafe Latte Chat, TODAY got Coffee with __. Why newspapers name column after teh tarik/coffee/latte? Only they know! Few days ago, mypaper(I dont own it) reported about over a cup of Starbuck/Coffee Bean you maybe turned away if you study there. Whats the rationale behind it? Lack of space! In Malaysia, there is 'mamak' culture among para remaja there where they would gather at kedai mamak 4 roti canai & teh tarik, whereas in Brunei I call it Wywy Mamih culture!
Next story, free hugs with strangers from strangers. In India as well as Ximenting, Taiwan, this is a kegilaan! I have witness it too, baik jua aku inda kena pasal aku jalan jauh dari orang2 atu. If Brunei got, people would say 'wang gila kita memeluk anak gadis pak haji atu sebarangan, karang ku panggil polis'. Ok, thats it.

Adoption fever,fights here & there,crap stuff

Salam Muhibbah seantero dunia, greeting fellow Bloggies/netizens
Lu pikirla sendiri(pinjam kata2 Nabil Artis Paling Popular 2008)
Im not against adoptions since the Malawian court has allowed Madonna to adopt another Malawian. So, who am I to condemn adoptions? My mum had open up again the adoption issue but Im pretending not to listen. Few yrs ago, she said adopt a North Korean kid bcoz they are so 'kesian' & 'kebuluran'. Just now, she said adopt a Dusun(not being racist here, sorry untuk yg terasa) from orphanage because they are nicer and fairer like Chinese. And, the adoption wayang continues endlessly, Im not listening, lalalala singing @ the trees with Claire, the singer!
Last Sunday there was a fight after a basketball match @ Chung Hwa KB, dont know if you knew about it. Those who started the fights were fired by their boss on Monday, and were still wanted by the police to help in further investigations.

Berani buat, berani tanggung!
Yesterday, I just knew that Bridging Minds was postponed 2 December, guess its due 2 H1N1 pandemic. Instead, there was a trip to the Consumer Fair @ ICC. Oh, speaking about the trip after A Level, Facebook & blogs is really a good marketing tool to promote a trip especially if you got lots of friends in Facebook. I went from zero to 20, thanks to Facebook. Wondering, do I still need to ask permission to paste up notice @ 6th form noticeboard or do I just sit back relax & let Facebook do the trick? I really really hope that this time around the trip will be a success after being delayed since 2007. If there are no 'fire training', 'board meetings', it should be able to be realised, otherwise Plan B, just go see movie @ The Mall and hang around perhaps. We will see how thing goes as time goes by!
Anyway, thanks to the 20 people who have registered for the trip.
Terima Kasih Banyak2, Thank You Very Much, Xie Xie Ni
The debate is really freaking me out, THBT We Should Be Our Own Censors. My team is opposition. Not that, I dont have the points I got it already but Im scared it will be trashed by good proposition speakers like Hanafi & Rachel.
Anyway, before we fight dont give up & if we give up before we fight, we are losers!
2day I learnt another lesson(I learnt a lot from TV),

'True friends are friends who do not just befriend you because you are rich, clever, popular, whatever that is similar, but will also stay with you in times of you are in sadness, difficulty, unpopular, anything similar in value.
Bila berkawan tengoklah hati budinya tanpa mengira bangsa, agama, kekayaan, status, kepopular, kepandaian.
Ok, that it for this issue catch more crap stuff as I endure my 'boring 2nd term holiday doing the same routine watch Breakfast Show, read newspapers, watch HK drama, play basketball, etc'. I See You When I See You Again. Enjoy the rest of ur holidays, while I continue to fool around the bushes(what am I saying, tak tau ler). Chaw!
P.S. Cant wait for Saturday basketball game with Eric&Zaim, incase it dont rain as well as they dont 'fly aeroplane' with me!
