Oh yeah from Tokyo to KL, Uniqlo opening in 5 days aka Thursday! Wonder how long the que will snake thru!

After cracking my head, scratching my head till all the hairs fall off, making Google my best friend as well as visiting my tutor to look at sample essay as well as spending hours in library including 1 weekend, finally I have completed my Marketing essay. After all these 'hard work' kononnya, I am able to take my own so-called mid-sem break with my parents who coincidentally are in Semenanjung to attend a wedding. Where did I go? Hmm let see camp stone, LOL! I went to Genting Highlands or now better known as RWGenting, and before Genting its a nite stay at Mid Valley City (remember my posting regarding kena tipu, ah thats where I go) as well as after coming down from Genting, its a nite stay in downtown Bukit Bintang. More on these after, I had gathered my consciousness, seems that I had been 'drunk'!
At Mid Valley as usual went to my fav store, Robinson's to claim my RM$10 voucher which I have obtained thru my past purchases accumulation rebate. Actually, I was going to buy more clothing of my fav Korean apparel brand, Basic House but unfortunately NO SIZE pasal it was discounted at 50%, so cant buy anything. So rugi, since my parents are here and indirectly 'unlimited' resources for me to buy baju! Mid Valley stayed in Cititel, in a small room due to miscommunication and it aint cheap RM$220/nite!

Then on Thursday, after breakfast went uphill to Genting. Very interestingly, there are NO ROOMS available on a Thursday nite there. For the record:On Monday, I checked and there are still room. There could only be a reason: Genting is keeping rooms for their WorldCard members (Too much differentiation between member and non-member). As it cant be possible that 10,000 rooms up there is fully booked on a low season! Nevertheless, there are still other accomodation options in the form of other hotels such as Seri Malaysia. And interestingly, the rooms are even bigger than what you would get in Genting Highlands Resort at the same price! Last time, I remembered I stayed once in First World Hotel and the room was tiny and senang berlanggar, LOL! Before the existence of First World Hotel, I had also stayed in Genting Hotel (now is Maxims Genting), and of course with higher room rates the rooms are nicer. A comment on Genting marketing plans:When advertising room+breakfast from RM$45 make sure there are rooms or please accept last minute online booking! With the opening of RWS (also owned by Genting) and MBS in Singapore, RW Genting seems to still have a constant number of visitors. Ok an interesting tale to share when I was up there, do you remember few months back I went on a cruise and there was 'game of chance' aka slot machines and I have quite a good luck while playing it! This time around, I cant enter due to 'dress code' problems as I was wearing shorts. Damn! And the guards say ' Seluar pendek, pergi jogging dekat reception, LOL! Never mind, at least I wont lose any money or I had missed a chance to gain extra 'free' money! Oh yes by the way, 'I want nobody nobody but you in Genting as Wonder Girls are coming in December! So any people going up there to watch?

Oh yeah, while holidaying with my parents they asked about my relations with my classmates/housemates. Payah sekali aku nak jawab bab ini! So far its improving, as in my 3h break I have people to accompany me. But my parents ask whether did you have any gathering with your classmates. The answer is NO, as the reasons being: most of them live quite far from Sunway and you dont expect them to drive all the way up from KL to have a teh tarik session in mamak stalls right? In economic sense, it isnt viable (just imagine the traffic jam, tolls, etc). Another reason is we arent knowing each other quite well yet, so 'Man man lai' lah since there are still 2 yr into the degree course.

Ok, thats about it for my posting on my holiday break! Starting from today, its no more play2 time as exam is a matter of a little more than 2 wk. As Im aiming for HD in Accounting and 'mission impossible but can be achieved' for Marketing, its going to mean a lot of hardwork.

Happy Halloween Trick or Treat and where is my candies and enjoy ur weekend people!

Will Things Change or Not

In the past few weeks you have read/seen tons of my ramblings on iPhone4 right? You must be wondering why I crave it so much right? To tell you the truth and as a Marketing student, I DONT KNOW aka IDK! Buyer's behaviour are so unpredictable and its controlled by the 'black box' aka our brain! I should have owned an iPhone 3GS by the time A Level results were out but due to my certain 'misjudgement', the whole plan was spoiled by me and I can only blame myself for it!
The desire grew even stronger as I started my 'new life' in KL, as my roomate have an iPhone4 and a few of my classmates have iPhone 3GS, that makes me feel 'out of fashion'
This whole mindgame ploy is really powerful, when everyone around you have that thing i.e. in this case iPhone4/3gs, it makes you feel sad and want to have em too.
The problem now is  financing what is the use of desire if you have no money! So far, the response from my dad is erm like 'line engage' no definite reply although he does show more interest in my wish!
We shall see how things go in the next few days or months and let see if this mind game will continue to fuel my desire of owning and iPhone4.
Sorry people as you have to hear me grumble about iPhone4! At least now I can visit DiGi and Maxis to play around with the test unit while I work my may to own one. So far Im 84% more to target!Anyone want to help me to fulfill my wish, sell my iphone4 at rm100? LOL!
*This will change things again* when its *kambing*
P.S. This blogger feels so sad when he saw iPhone4 by iPhone4 being sold at his campus.

20102010

Sorry for the belated postings for this week. I was damn busy trying to rush all my assignments so that I can enjoy next week. Nevertheless, I managed to complete it just now and here I am blogging! If not, I would still in the library, scratching my head till all the hairs fall down and become a 'laughing stock'. Righty, lets get back to the main agenda 20102010.
Very unique date indeed that comes ONLY ONCE in your lifetime, takda lagi 20102010 unless the calendar reverses itself instead of moving on.
20102010 8.10pm or 2010hr where are you people? For me I was wandering aimless downtown Bukit Bintang, nolah Im not 'kutu rayau', I was at BB to wait for my parents who was coming to Semenanjung for a wedding ceremony. Enough of whereabout Im on 20102010.
Now its time to ponder upon ourself what have we done for the past year. I had blogged about Triple 10 reflections in great details and now 10 days after Triple 10 what have we achieved? Are we nearer to our goals/dreams or are we getting farther? If we are getting nearer, congrats keep up the momentum to reach your goals. On the other hand, if its getting farther you must ponder upon yourself. So What Went Wrong?
From 20092009 to 20102010, my life transformed from a Pre-U student in Brunei to an undergraduate in Malaysia. A lot of adjustments are required to suit my 'new life' here.
Lifes arent getting easier but tougher as days goes by. Things are more costly, new skills/things have to be learned, 'survival of the fittest' is slowly raging, and the list goes on and on.
So, I end this posting with a sentence:Time wait for no man, time is not for sale nor you can buy extra time (unlike in football game where you have extra time), when 20102010 arrives people cherish it but when its gone its gone forever (unless in the future someone create a time machine).

Good but not enough

So there, you have it Malaysia the PM, Najib Razak has just tabled Bajet 2011 just now. Not going to cover all the points, you can go to The Malaysian Insider or other news websites for details, just going to cover some of the points that interests me. Overall, I was shocked but happy! However, I feel that there is something still missing.
10% sales tax on mobile phones to be abolished - According to a Malay Mail report this will reduce student's burden. For me, this will bring me closer to my dream phone of 2010, iPhone4. However, at this stage it is unclear whether telco DiGi and Maxis will reduce their prices or the price slash will be for the next generation of iPhone due in 2011?Update: Correction prices of smartphones such as iPhone4 arent going down as its not taxed, only normal 'brick and mortar' phone je yg maybe akan turun harga. This reminds me of the big & bulky Motorola yang macam water bottle that my dad once have.only call no SMS no twitter,fb,wap! Apologise for the wrong info people. But hopefully telcos can reduce a bit the price of iPhone4!
300 essential items import tax ranging from 5-30% abolished. These include suit, shoes, hair dyes, shampoo, underwear, sleepwear, perfumes, golf balls, wallets, clothing, talcum powder. When the PM was announcing this just now, the whole Parliament house was laughing, LOL! - Now more people can wear CK underwear LOL! However, at this point of time it is still blur whether retailers and major brands will reduce their prices. So we shall wait and see! (Urm, by the way I think I proposed this in the PM blog) Looks like there is going to be even more people queuing up at Uniqlo opening on 4th November after this announcement is being made
Service tax is now 6% - This is bad news for me who dines occasionally at Mcd, KFC, Kenny rogers, restaurants, food courts. An example a McValue meal that previously costs RM$6.25 will now costs RM$6.30, a mere 5 sen increase who cares about this. 5 sen je! My solution is to dine more at kedai kopi which dont charge service tax as now even worst mamak also got service tax! At first maybe demand will go down a bit, but when people dah biasa it will go up balik. Alah 1% je a 'national service' to our beloved Malaysia!
RM$50 million covered walkway between Bukit Bintang & KLCC - This is a good news to me as if I want to go to KLCC say for Bookfest I can also go to BB. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone or sambil menyelam sambil minum air
A RM$40 billion MRT - This will aid my travel around Klang Valley but wonder what are the routes. Really hope that it is convenient like SMRT in Singapore

Well thats about it that interests me. Hope you enjoy my analysis of this budget. See ya in 2012 budget!
P.S. Few years back it was biscuits and beehoon now its hair dyes, shampoo, underwear, golf balls! Malaysia is really FUNNI!

Observe

Whoah, this is going to be just a short posting since Im extremely busy with sudden 'truckload' of assignments to be done. Last week, I have said I had observed things while Im here, so today's posting is to share em out. Sorry incase, anyone feelings was hurt by this posting.
People would not mind spending a fortune for gadgets - The norms here are iPhone, Blackberry. This is the current fashion now so it isnt surprising. Just look at how long the que was when iPhone4 was launched in Malaysia 3 weeks ago & how long the waiting list is. I wish I were one of those who owned iPhone4 in Malaysia but what to do? 'No money no iPhone4' my only hope is next week I can persuade my parent to buy for me or I win it through some contests.
People would not mind spending a fortune for fashion - Remember in the my previous posting, the picture I had taken from the Topshop/Topman student sale. Just look at how many students (including me) queing up to purchase stuffs and 1st 100 got goodie bags. What I dont understand is its ONLY 20% less but still so many are purchasing. come on if 80-90% I can understand but hey 20%? A search into forums, discovered that its because new arrivals are also on SALE, la patutlah! From what I observe, most people bought up to hundreds of RM$, perhaps they are buying for Year-end Prom Nite?
People would sacrifice their meals for stuffs stated above - This situation of 'meal sacrificing' can be understandable at the end of the month, when students have nearly used up their allowances. Biscuits, rotis, Indomie, Maggie Mie are your best friend at this point of time. But it seems that people here can sacrifice their meals just to be in style & have latest gadget. This is only my observation and may not be the 'true picture'
Since I badly yearn for an iPhone4 this week quote is : This changes things again
iPhone4 come to me!!!!!! LOL!

A Triple 10 Reflections

Well hello there guess what its Triple 10 day,(10/10/2010). To make it more special my cousin as well as 2 of my Facebook friends are celebrating their birthday today.Wow so nice you guys sharing your birthday this yr with a special day that comes once in a millenium (simple words 1000 yrs)! or some people say once in 100yr why? The next triple 10 is in 2110. Logic no? Then the next should be in 3010, logic ok!
Lets have a little talk about the number 10. In Chinese its translated as Shi but some people go and beautify it to become Shi Chuan Shi Mei (Perfect 10). I remembered a dialogue in a Singapore movie, I Not Stupid Too that says 'Perfect 10 mah'. Haha, out of 100 you get 10 for test and you say perfect 10? The chances of you getting smacked by your parent are high!
So, this 'triple 10' day is a good time to reflect what had I done for the past 10 months & 10 days.
Travelwise I had gone aboard on a cruise ship and visited Phuket Thailand for the 1st time.
Educationwise I had completed my A Levels with a 'rather average' grade for good student but considered 'very good' for an average student. I had been rejected by NUS,NTU&SMU with 'low standard, limited spaces' reasoning. I had started my undergraduate life at Monash Malaysia & heading towards the right track of being a HD student god willing!
Financialwise I had lost quite a sum of money on a Prom Nite on the basis of 'too trusting Facebook' and 'last-minute work'
Life and friendship is still an area in which I am trying to find ways to overcome my problems as well as to find 'the right one'. If any1 got any tips on how kindly help me out by dropping a comment on my Cbox
Generally, the past 10 months and 10 days has been a roller-coaster ride for me in life in terms of financial, education and not forgetting life and friendship. I am sure that nothing will ever go smooth 365days straight right? If everything goes so smoothly without any challenges, then what is life? Life without challenges is just like watching a black and white TV while life with occasional challenges and surprises is just like watching a LED HD TV with a broken antenna, LOL! It will never be the same again *head thinking about iPhone4*
There are still 2 months and 20 days left for me & you all out there to fix what is there is need to be fixed (for me its my way of communicating with people & making friends), to improve what is there need to be improved (for me its improving my grades, improving my handphone by upgrading into an iPhone4,improving my wardrobe so that 'berlanggar baju' wont happen to me!) and lastly to let go things that have to be let go. Basically there are still 2 months & 20days for you and me to Improve,Fix & Let Go so that our lives can be cherished and exciting!
I shall end this posting with a picture taken at 1U last Friday. Cant believe there are so many people just for a 20% sale + free goodie bag (including me yeah we are kiasu bunch).
Weekend Quote:Be Kiasu If Required,Be Nerd If Required And Act smart

P.S. Situations are even going to be worst than shown in this when Uniqlo KL opens on 4th November. And I will be there to witness it and join in the 'Uniqlo KL madness'!

A Day In A Life of an undergrad

Helo hi there, few days bk I was comtemplating which topics to blog for this wk and finally aka NOW I had made my mind to blog on a day in a life of an undergrad. I had been here for 2 months already and you people out there especially my fellow friends would like to know how is my life here. Is it stress or pretty manageable? Is it FUN or all work? Is it expensive or cheap living here? I shall answer all this in this posting
Lets start with Monday,
7 am:Woke up
After 7am:Take a bath, cuci muka & brush my teeth.
7.20am:Breakfast nothing special only Milo & bread since we arent allowed to cook in the hostel & I cant cook also (The last time I handled a gas hood in Brunei I nearly caused a BIG DISASTER!).
7.45am:Pick up a copy of The Sun FREE paper & walked to the campus which is about 8min away (depend on traffic)
8am:Wait for library to open & go to use internet (Mind you our campus internet is very fast the last time I speed test its 15mbps). Usually read Brudirect, Brunei Times(I still keep in touch with Brunei happenings),download TODAY & Mypaper.
9am:Class start, Monday its Principles of Accounting & Finance. The class lasts for 1.5hr till 10.30am.
10.30am: Its either go to library or go to cafetaria to have 'early lunch'. If go library go to read newspapers/magazines or listen to online radio thru library netbook. Our library offer netbook rental
1pm: Balik hostel and go online/do revision/nap
5.30pm:Early dinner of nasi campur or daily special.Costs from RM3.4 up to RM6.8
6pm:After dinner went back up to room,go online til 7
7pm:Bath time
8pm:Listen to 988 Young Music House while revising/go online
10pm:Listen to 988 Night Show
11pm:Sleep time
So particularly my day is just like that 'plain as air kosong' everyday unless something comes up eg exhibitions, sales, etc. So far my normal programming had only been interrupted a few times for me to make a trip up to Bukit Bintang, KLCC, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya,1Utama,Mid Valley.
Regarding cost of living especially makan issues, if you are smart you can find pretty cheap makan.Although you wont find something like nasi katok $1 here, if you found nasi lemak $1.5 its considered cheap already!
People who are active wont have this 'plain air kosong' day like me.They will have it filled with mamak outings with friends, clubbing, going to a gym, catch a movie, playing sports, etc. And from all these, I noticed something, that will be story for another time.
Till, next week this week quote is 'Think carefully before doing something'. Dont do it then regret later when something goes wrong!

Realities & Rumours (update)

Since yesterday(Saturday) there had been a lot of rumours on Twitterspace or we in Malaysia call it Twitterjaya on SNSD, Girl Generation, 2PM as well as the cast of Boys over Flower are in Brunei to perform in a private function of VVIP. A further Googling found out this rumour could be true as supported by some 'insider info' in some blogs. Since there are not a single pictures to proven they had came to Brunei, I assume its just 'plain rumours'. This creates much hype among Brunei Kpop fans or fans of these artists who wants to catch a glimpse of their fav artists in their own 'tanahair'. According to responses, it is estimated that a lot of people would drive down to Bandar today so drive carefully. This things arent so surprising in Brunei anymore considering the facts that last yr about the same time of the yr, a few Western artists came to Brunei for a private function. There is 1 BIG question mark. Could this signals that there would be a Kpop concert in Brunei soon? This remained to be seen considering that its has been quite a while since international acts concerts have been held in Brunei.
Moving on from rumours, we go to something real with pictures as proofs. I think most of us grew up watching HK TVB dramas am I right? Before there was Astro, we have TV2, TV3 to show us TVB drama 6pm/7pm Monday-Friday. And I remembered that once my Malay teacher, Cikgu Japar complaint about this. When Astro came, we even have more TVB dramas & now we could watch the latest drama with the same time as HK with Astro on demand. Since Astro is TVB biggest buyer of programmes they get special perks such as bringing TVB artists down to Malaysia to promote their drama. Yesterday, it was a promotional event for TVB 43th anniversary drama, No Regrets & 2 actor & 1 actress were brought to Malaysia to promote the drama. 1 of the promo tour happens nearby, at Sunway Pyramid yesterday. It starts from 2pm-5pm with 1st part performances from Astro local artists and from 4pm onwards the TVB artists appearance. There were also goodies giveways by AOD & My FM Cruisers. Something which I dont like is some of them humban the gifts, I thought someone had complained before on this isu & Astro had replied it wont happen again! Ok I will stop crapping for now & let the picture speak for itself.
By the way, I passed my JPJ computerised test already so next step is to masuk bengkel 6jam before getting Lesen L & then 16hr of practical training then test for Lesen P.
